Ash Mirchandani
Dr. Prabhu has been a practicing physician in Nevada for over three decades and founded Red Rock Medical Group, Eldorado Medical Center and Sleep Center of Nevada specializing in internal medicine, pulmonary and sleep medicine.
Dr Prabhu has a distinguished academic background, which includes being certied by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Pulmonary Medicine, Sleep Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine and is a graduate of the prestigious R.G. Kar Medical College, Calcutta, India. Dr Prabhu has also participated in many investigative clinical researches.
Dr Prabhu throughout his career has made some significant contribution to medicine in Nevada; from founding a major pulmonary and critical care facility in Las Vegas to being the first Nevada physician to be trained in Laser Broncology to having held several critical positions such as Medical Director of the ICU at Valley Hospital to Medical Co Director – ICU at University Medical Center, Pulmonary consultant to the Veterans Services in Las Vegas and Medical Director of the Veterans Nursing Home, Boulder City to volunteering his time in many of the hospital committees in Las Vegas Valley such as; Medical Records Committee, Quality Assurance Committee, Medical Review Committee, Critical Care Committee.
Dr Prabhu commitment to Nevada and welfare of Nevadans is evident from his relentless community service which has been recognized over the years he is the 2010 Nevada Patients Choice Top Physician awards; 2011 – 2012 Outstanding Adjunct Faculty, Internal Medicine Residency Program, UNSOM;Invitation to the White House State Banquet by President Obama; Awarded honorary Key to the City of Las Vegas; Distinguished Nevadan Award Recipient for 2012, Honored by Resolution in the U.S. Congress, House of Representatives amongst many others and currently serves as the chairperson for the Nevada Medical Examiner Board, the licensing board for all physicians in Nevada.
Dr Prabhu resides in Las Vegas with his wife Dr. Lata Shete and they have two children Vikrant Lee and Tara.
Ash is the founder of Kaizen Strategies, President at United Citizens Foundation and and has investment interests in several businesses. Previously he served as the Deputy Director of the Nevada Department of Business and Industry, responsible for small business advocacy & development, housing programs & policies, financing programs, regulatory reform, constituent services, bond programs, & new market tax credits. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of Workforce CONNECTIONS and, prior to that, Assistant to the Director at the Nevada Department of Employment, Training & Rehabilitation . Mr. Mirchandani has over a decade of marketing experience in the private sector.
Mr. Mirchandani has a B.S. in Business Administration from Calcutta University in India and an M.B.A. in Finance from Newport University. He is a Certified Public Manager as well as an Oracle Certified Consultant. Mr. Mirchandani has extensive experience in programs development, team building, resource management, fiscal management, process improvements amongst others. He has received many awards and honors, such as; Gold Medal in Chartered Financial Analyst group Exams, Excellence Award – Nevada Department of Business & Industry, Nevada Trailblazer Award –Awarded by Minorities Suppliers Development Corporation, Featured in Nevada Spotlight, Prominent Asian Award -CANDO and Distinquished men in Nevada award. Very active in the community, Ash has been involved on many boards and committees in the such as, Founding Chairman and President of United Citizens Foundation, a nonprofit that presently runs behavioral health programs for children and families within eight CCSD Schools. Ash has dedicated most of his time for the past year to ensuring UCF continue to do great work, expand, and sustain itself. He previously served as the Vice Chair of the Hospital Advisory Board at UMC , Director of Home Means Nevada Inc, and on the public employees benefit board. He currently serves on many important boards in Nevada including the Nevada Capital Investment Corporation.
